Leadership Secrets of New England Patriots
Tonight's Patriots-Giants game was probably one of the most exciting regular season games in the history of NFL. In the era of ever changing dynamics of coaches, free agent star players and the owners who do not truly appreciate the sport, it is refreshing to see a well led and managed organization like the Patriots clinching the 16-0 perfect season. If you look closely, The Patriots organization has always been different from other sports franchises. Between the humble owner, Bob Kraft to the disciplined coach Bill Belichick and all the levelheaded players - they all sing the same tune. In 2005, James Lavin wrote an interesting and thoroughly researched book on the Patriots - Management Secrets of New England patriots.
NCAA Football And NFL Football Send Cottage Industries Into Full Gear
Football is big business. Both the NFL and NCAA football generate huge dollars for their teams, players, the leagues and for many other industries. According to CNN last November, NCAA sports teams generated 4.2 billion from its fans and partners. Almost all of that revenue comes from football and basketball with the lion's share being the football market. This is only the tip of the iceberg when it comes to what football does to our national economy. Secondary sources of income from NCAA football and the NFL are two many to be named. These include TV networks, beer and food companies, cities and states for taxes, vegas casinos, off shore sportsbooks, etcetera, etcetera, and etcetera.
How Much Do Super Bowl Tickets Cost?
America loves to spend money on the Super Bowl. From buying a new high definition television for game day to multi-million dollar ad spots during the game, the Super Bowl inspires super spending as much as it celebrates football. Actually going to the Super Bowl and watching it in person will cost a person several thousand dollars. Super Bowl tickets as of January 16th are readily available on eBay. Auctions for Super Bowl tickets are getting plenty of attention and money thrown at them. For example, a pair of tickets for the lower level end zone area of the stadium in Glendale, Arizona where Super Bow XLII will be played on February 3rd recently sold at auction on eBay for $7, 302.
Football - Why So Popular?
Another Football season is about to descend upon us. The time of the year that football fans across the nation live for. In millions of homes, fans will grab their NFL teams jersey and cap and favorite brew and plop down on the sofa with friends for another exciting afternoon of Sunday football. Or for those who can actually afford the ticket prices, it's another season of tailgating parties, hanging out with 60, 000 other screaming fans cheering on the hometown team, and Monday morning hangovers. Of course there are some who could care less about all this 'who struck John' football stuff and wonder what the big deal is? I've known a few women in my time who actually detest football because they know for the next sixteen Sundays they'll be hard pressed to get the husband to do anything on Sunday afternoons.
The Best Hope for the Rams Will Come out of LA
The absolute best hope that we as Rams fans have to getting this team back on track will be at the LA Summit that is going on right now between the heads of the organization (John Shaw and Jay Zygmunt) and Head Coach Scott Linehan. It seems in the past that when Coach Linehan hired his Coordinators and his assistants, for the most part, he was hiring his "buddies". I'm sure he felt that he would be better off working with people he knew and could get along with. Obviously, this hasn't worked. My fear right now is that this is what will be used to determine who he hires as an Offensive Coordinator to replace Greg Olson, instead of going after the most qualified candidate.
TO Cries the Blues, Giants Get Ready For Green Bay
There is a lot that can be said about the Giants victory over the Cowboys on Sunday. It was monumental, huge, you name it, but no one could predict that the victory would cause a grown man to cry. Standing at the podium in the post game press conference, T.O. arguably one of the best receivers in football, broke down and started to cry. "That's my quarterback, " says Owens with tears coming down his face. "It's not fair that you do that to him." In that moment a collective cheer could be heard coming from Philadelphia, where Owens single handily destroyed the Eagles season the year after they went to the Superbowl. With that behind Big Blue, and ignoring the ignorant comments by Wade Phillips the head coach of the Cowboys, who said, "The best team did not win on Sunday", the Giants press on to Green Bay.
Stade de France Stadium In St Denis France
Saint Denis is a suburb around 10km from the centre of Paris along the river Seine and has specific claims to fame. The first is that the area was named after Saint Denis who became known as the Patron Saint of France, where St Genevieve had a small chapel erected over his tomb for pilgrims to visit. The second is that it is known for the Saint Denis Basilica where a vast majority of French Kings are also entombed here and this was rebuilt on the site of the chapel. The third is for The Stade de France, which is the new stadium that was built to host the 1998 FIFA world cup and has seen many other events since. If you have time whilst you are on holiday in the Paris area, taking a trip out to St Denis is a very worthwhile and enjoyable experience for all the family.
Spurs will look to rattle Arsenal s cage at Emirates this Christmas
The North London derby between Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur is one of the most eagerly-awaited events in the calendars of both sets of fans. The two clubs have faced one another in top-flight football 156 times since the 1900s, and each hotly-contested derby is accompanied by a crackling atmosphere throughout this populous corner of the city as Londoners exchange taunts, quips and largely good-natured banter about their predictions for the match. The 156 clashes to date have produced 66 Arsenal wins, 49 Tottenham victories and 41 draws, and plenty of memorable moments. Who can forget the nine-goal thriller at White Hart Lane in 2004 - Noureddine Naybet opened the scoring for Spurs late in the first half, and despite his teammates Defoe, Ledley King and Kanoute joining him on the scoresheet they were at last out-Gunned with the match finishing 4-5 to Arsenal.
